A warehouse of wonders
beckons me with
magnificent megaliths
of merchandise –
plasma screens
game systems
laptop computers
clusters of clothing
and enough food
to feed a small country.

I want this.
I need that.
The more I spend,
the deeper the discount.
The deeper the discount,
the more I can spend!
I depart with a cart
filled with goodies
paid for with plastic
and for a minute moment
I am satiated.
