Waiting for Eureka

Response

Waiting for outer layers to whither away, to expose life anew.
Waiting for the moment when fear of everything evaporates into nothing.
Waiting for the fulfillment of promises that were never made, only implied.
Waiting for potential, perhaps real, perhaps perceived, to be realized.
Waiting for the waiting to end.
Waiting for Eureka.

How could we ever eat something so damn beautiful??? The poem hones in on the tactile concept of the leaves and gives me something to think about. Taken together, this image and poem are ideally suited to this season of Lent.
