I’m taking a nap while swinging
it’s very relaxing so relaxing
Sure, take a nap, just don’t let go.
so relaxing
the swinging back and forth
the sun shining down on me
Warm against your cheek, like a kiss.
the wind going by my ear
Like a whisper?
my legs going forward and back
the swing squeaking
A gentle creaking above us.
The sound of distant children laughing.
of dogs yipping and yapping
people talking by the slide
Yes, people talking.
Damp mulch under our feet.
wood chips they’re wood chips
Okay, the scent of damp wood chips.

Ambush of the self

In rush of blood and thump of heart

Breathless moments frenzied

All a unique part

Of the love connection hunger bound and dwarfing lust

As mind body soul fuse in volcanic thrust

Real taste, quenched thirst, spin, scope, seam, split

Come apart, come together,

Mix, match and refit

Into one seamless whole, many sided full replete

Inside, outside, total being, focused and complete

Composition lyrical, scale of notes so clear and pure

Soul mates strong, and forever friends

A racing blood bond that will endure.

Glistening Ornament/ Snow Sleigh Skylight

Staring at the Christmas tree

eyes full of ornaments elbowing into memory

focusing now on the ruby red image of sleighing days glistening on the extended finger of the giant spruce arm

stretched out to harbor the photo shining from inside the ornament

reminding me of fun filled sleigh rides

beneath the spread of other giant spruces garlanding the winter lodge.

cutter sleighs flying down hills

bathed in snow and shushing to a stop as loved one snaps a photo

trapping one of those ice cold warm heart days that winter brings

locking it into a glass ball image to garland a tree for a later time

in a cozy fireplaced room free of ice and snow but clothed in light

an ice fringed card once opened on snow limmed ground

grandfather of the cards that dress the mantle for this year/

sleighs now under the tree

as rich memories hanging free

and zoom of sled down frosted slope

reminds of youth dipped in joy and hope

now photo shopped on tree branch wide

bringing smiles and sweet remembered glide.
