come on and shape me
bend and me make me come alive
use your hands to mold me
i know you’ll blow me up to size

i need some heated affection
need your firm direction toward the light
shape me and soften me with your hands
so i can harden overnight

i know this is dangerous
this intricate work i’ve asked of you
but if you were shapeless
i would open my kiln and mold you too

i want to be seasoned
in fires of yellow, orange and blue
work me and shape me with your hands
make me feel like I’m brand new
