Response
With your first footfall,
I become grass next to the road.
Astride the intersections.
Witness to each border
Here, before, in between and next.
When you step away,
I then dance among stray stones.
Carrying unconnected dead.
Fulfilling each wish
Until all the hells are emptied.
In all that exists,
I am the beautiful and awed.
Even trampled underfoot.
Even pressed into the earth
I spark in traveling light.
Behold.
