IN THE SWIM

swift youth
forward thrust
almost gone
almost flying
defying dimensions of up and down
forward ever forward
the blue glow
of a worried cautious world
cannot hold her
let her go
for she must off and away
gone too soon it seems
as the smiling flippers
follow close behind
