exhalation
She rubs her silhouette against the fog,
and begs the grey to smear some hint of dawn.
She mouths the words; her mumbled monologue
is building speed just as a lie upon
a polygraph result. She shifts her weight.
She rises, holds her breath, her pupils filled
with radio waves. She billows and abates.

be waning? Watch the glass become the sand –
she stretches out her sapphire, exhales on land.
