Response:
adrift again
i scattered you into the ocean
to say good-bye
and then came back to find you
i expected you to be waiting
but i can’t see beyond the horizon
my feet massage
the wet sand,
my heart swells
like too big a thing
pressed into an imaginary box
i am in
the center of the universe
searching
for your remains
hoping clumps of you
will be delivered by
a sympathetic wave
i imagine, instead, you
clinging to the sea wall
and the bitterness of
knowing i let you escape

As if the words flowed directly from the beautiful photo!! I love this pairing!
I like what Lisa did with this photograph. Her words captured the essence of the vision I had. Not everyone who walks alone is necessarily lonely but, there is often some searching for something lost or something not yet discovered when one looks to the sea.
