Wolf By Day

Inspiration piece

His colors are exactly

the snow, the tree bark,

the underbrush.

Crossing the brook

he stops to look;

blue jay to his left

cardinal to his right

in the sunlight shine–

shouldn’t it be moonlight?

Does he remember

how to bay?

Stalking omen, he walks

the paths of wolves

and people that came

before him in the dark

Palisades Forest.

Is there a difference

between murderous

and ravenous? I

remember how it

feels to be hungry.

I love the inspiration piece and the response. That is one fierce looking creature!
