The cold
is absolute
is all there ever
has been
all there ever
will be
Does the tree
feel buds
kicking inside?
Does the snow
know only
its perfection,
its unique embrace
of dust?
Or does it remember
cloud?
And the cold,
does it know
that it
might, one day,
end?
