Hemispheres of Separation
By Fernanda Valentino
Inspiration piece
Half a planet separates us,
Space and time become confused,
You awaken. I drift out of consciousness.
The day to day that we discuss,
A flimsy veil that cannot be abused;
Half a planet separates us.
Apathetic. Love ambiguous,
Fragile hearts beat, broken, bruised;
You awaken. I drift out of consciousness.
My heart is torn and restless
Fight for love or be accused?
Half a planet separates us.
Important things become superfluous.
Avoiding words that we once used;
You awaken. I drift out of consciousness.
Battered hearts, love on hiatus,
Day is night. Our love excused.
Half a planet separates us.
You awaken, while I drift out of consciousness.

Another great pairing. There’s such musicality in your poem, Fernanda. The mixed media response engages the viewer to linger and reread the poem.Beautiful work.
